Gqeberha Photowalk (and… some photos)

A week ago, we set out to the streets of Gqeberha to photograph life in it’s city center. The goal was to capture the essence of human life and its moments as we roamed around taking photos. I’m so grateful for the experience and the photos we took.

I’ve been wanting to do a street shoot. Even spoke about it a little on social media. I was always (and still am, just a little) envious of the awesome Cape Town & Durban street photography I see on Instagram. We need that! Safety was always (and still is) an issue, but as the saying goes, “There’s safety in numbers”.

Insert Gqeberha Photowalk. A passion project, if you will.

We did it last week. I didn’t know what to expect, but WE DID IT! And that matters. To follow through matters. To FINISH matters and I’m already looking forward to the next one. (perhaps early 2022??)

So grateful to those who pulled through and helped materialize this thing. 🙂

Check out the images below. I took a different approach to editing (as you can probably see). Generally, most of my images are a tad desaturated, but I wanted some more vibrancy in these. A little more crunch in the details and I enjoyed the process throughout.
